The Mobilization Law can be adopted by the end of March

Fedir Venislavsky thinks that the Rada can adopt the mobilization law by the end of March.

Members of the Verkhovna Rada have proposed over 4,000 amendments to the draft law on mobilization, which is yet to be adopted in the second reading. Despite such a number of amendments, Fedir Venislavsky, a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence, is confident that the parliament has chance of adopting the draft law by the end of March, as he stated in an interview with “РБК-Україна“.

According to Venislavsky, the Secretariat of the Verkhovna Rada is expected to prepare a comparative table for the draft law on mobilization by March 4th. The process of detailed discussion and consideration, as well as the acceptance or rejection of these amendments along with those who submitted them, may begin on March 5th or 6th.

“Optimistically, the committee may finish with the amendments by March 10th-15th. Pessimistically, we may consider them by March 20th, formulate the committee’s conclusion, vote, and submit the draft law for the second reading to the Rada. Therefore, under both optimistic and pessimistic scenarios, we have every chance to vote on this draft law in the second reading in the chamber by the end of March,” Venislavsky added.

Recall that the Verkhovna Rada adopted the draft law on mobilization in the first reading on February 7th. However, when the second reading will take place is uncertain, as 4,195 amendments have been introduced to the document. Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a deputy from the “Holos” party, thinks that the Verkhovna Rada will begin its consideration on March 6th if everything “progresses well.”
