Norway starts maritime training mission

Norway starts training Ukrainian Marines, which is the first step in the maritime coalition work.

This spring, Norwegian soldiers start training Ukrainian Marines specialized in small boat operations, The Norwegian Ministry of Defence informed on Thursday.

The training will go on for at least a year. In addition, Norway will donate rubber boats and equipment to a value of approximately NOK 60 million.

Norwegian Defense Minister Bjorn Arild Gram said that Norway should contribute to changing the situation.

The Norwegian Army has already developed a close relationship with Ukrainian marines through training in Norway, says Defence Minister Bjørn Arild Gram

It should be noted that the training is a first step in the maritime coalition work that Norway is co-ordinating with Great Britain.
