The Ministry of Defense has introduced innovative solutions for the digitalization of NATO standards.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has announced that its Innovation Center participated in the NATO TIDE Sprint 2024 international conference in Dresden, where discussions revolved around the development of NATO military IT systems and partner countries.

The primary theme of the conference centered on evolving approaches to warfare. TIDE Sprint 2024 addressed priority tasks for countries in this arena through 2030, including the coordination of interoperable joint operations and the migration of combat IT systems to cloud storage—a concept already validated by Ukrainian military developers in wartime scenarios.

Major Yelizaveta Boyko, the developer of the DELTA system, highlighted ongoing efforts at the Innovation Center to create modern IT products enabling informational superiority, enhancing the efficiency of Ukrainian military personnel, and facilitating remote operation management.

“Today, Ukrainian forces leverage every available technology to gain an edge over the enemy, while we at the Innovation Center develop cutting-edge IT products. These products enable us to maintain an informational advantage, enhance coordination and efficiency of our forces, and most importantly, to remotely manage operations with reduced risk to human life. Innovation also involves addressing existing challenges with new tools,” Major Yelizaveta Boyko explained.

The Ministry of Defense has reported that the delegation from the Innovation Center showcased how existing NATO standards can be digitized using cloud computing and big data processing. Special attention was given to improving cybersecurity processes, integrating drones into the DELTA system, and other systems, achieved through collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, partners from the NGO “Aerorozvidka,” and Cossack Labs company.

Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Katerina Chernogorenko, announced that the ministry is constantly working on expanding the functionality of the DELTA system and implementing tools based on AI. The deputy minister emphasized that the world has yet to gain experience with the technologies that Ukraine is already successfully employing on the battlefield.

“DELTA accelerates decision-making and provides an advantage over the enemy on the battlefield. We are constantly expanding its functionality and implementing tools based on artificial intelligence. The world has yet to gain experience with the technologies that Ukraine is already successfully using on the battlefield. The use of robots on the frontline is a separate phenomenon. Thank you to the Innovation Center team for their leadership in the field,” stated Katerina Chernogorenko.

The Ministry of Defense has reiterated that DELTA is a unique ecosystem of military products built to NATO standards. It enables real-time battlefield visibility, displays maritime, aerial, and ground situations on a digital map, and facilitates information exchange with allies.
